What the lanolin cream actually does

The first days of breastfeeding are often painful while the latch settles. HPA lanolin does not fix a poor latch — for that you need a lactation consultant — but it keeps the skin supple and hydrated, which noticeably speeds the healing of cracks and makes feeds bearable in the meantime.
