Our shoes follow standard sizing, but if you are unsure which size best fits your child's feet or your baby's first steps, here are the most frequently asked questions and our Size guide:

Do the measurements in the chart apply to all models in the online shop?

• Canvas shoes: their shape can be slightly wider. We recommend choosing your child's usual size.
• Biohome: can also be slightly wider, like the summer canvas shoes.

Should I leave 1 cm of extra room when choosing the size?

Our sizes already include enough room for the foot to fit properly inside the shoe.

For example:

👉 If your child's foot measures 10.8 cm, we recommend size 18

👉 If it measures 12.2 cm, size 20, and so on (see the chart below).

The Biomecanics Biogateo line has a foot outline printed on the insole: at the first fitting, the foot should fit entirely inside this outline.

Tips for choosing the right size

• Avoid shoes that are too small or too tight: they stop the child from spreading their toes, cause pain on top of the foot and harm healthy foot development.
• Also avoid shoes that are too big: the foot will move inside, which can cause rubbing, blisters and poor posture.
• Always try the shoes on both feet, as there can be a slight difference in size between them (one may grow faster than the other).
• Your child should wear socks similar to the ones they will wear with the shoes.

Measure your child's foot in centimetres, then find the size in the chart.

How to measure the foot

1. Always measure the inner insole of the shoe, never the outer sole.
2. For a first pair: place a sheet of paper on the floor against a wall. Put your child's heel against the wall, with the foot flat. Mark where the longest toe ends, then measure the distance from the wall to the mark.

Tip: measure the foot at the end of the day, when it is slightly longer.
